We’re not registered with the Housing Corporation, does that mean we won’t get any help from QHT?
Applicants don't have to be registered with the Housing Corporation to be eligible for QHT help.

We’re not registered with the Charity Commission, does that mean we won’t get any help from QHT?
QHT can only help projects with charitable status as defined by the 1992 Charities Act, but this does not necessarily mean registration with the Charity Commission.

Does QHT run or own its own housing schemes?
No, QHT does not run or own any housing schemes, which means it is not able to provide actual accommodation directly to individuals itself. It supports local projects meeting local needs.

We don’t have any Quakers on our Board, does that mean QHT won’t consider us for help?
QHT requires some level of current, direct involvement and support from their local Quaker meeting, not necessarily at Board level.

Does QHT make site visits to inspect the work carried out with QHT loans/grants?
QHT appoints Trustees to keep in touch with projects during and after any financial help is given.

Are there any types of housing scheme that QHT would not support?
QHT helps social housing schemes (affordable rented accommodation) so does not generally offer financial support to accommodation for sale, nor for individuals or non-charitable housing projects.

I am a Quaker and work for a housing association. Does that mean my association can apply to QHT for financial support?
Only if the local Quaker meeting also supports the work of the housing association and writes a minute to endorse the application.

How is QHT funded?
QHT is funded entirely by direct donations from local Quakers and others in sympathy with our work, legacies, interest free loans, and the recycling of loans made to projects.

Does QHT have any other offices in the UK besides Friends House in London?
No, QHT is based solely at the Society of Friends' offices in London.

Can we make an appointment to come in and talk to QHT about what financial and other services are available?
Yes, just contact the Secretary

I am a Quaker and want to get involved with the work of QHT. Is this possible?
Yes. There are a number of ways, from helping to publicise QHT's work to serving as a Trustee - just contact the Secretary to discuss the possibilities.
